BookQ Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the BookQ mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using BookQ, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

BookQ is a mobile application designed to help users:

  • Track books they are currently reading

  • Maintain personal reading lists

  • Save and organize books

  • Write reviews or notes about books

  • Participate in book-related communities or discussions

Features of the Service may change over time. We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time.

3. User Accounts

Certain features of the Service may require you to create an account.

When creating an account:

  • You agree to provide accurate and complete information

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account

  • You are responsible for any activity that occurs under your account

You agree not to share your login credentials with others.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the Service.

  • Ratings

  • Other user-generated content

You retain ownership of the content you submit.

However, by submitting content to the Service, you grant BookQ a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute that content within the Service.

You are solely responsible for the content you submit.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation

  • Post harmful, abusive, defamatory, or harassing content

  • Upload spam or unsolicited promotional material

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts

  • Interfere with or disrupt the functionality of the Service

  • Attempt to reverse engineer or exploit the software

We reserve the right to remove content or restrict accounts that violate these rules.

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or misuse the platform.

You may stop using the Service at any time.

Termination may result in the removal of your account and associated data.

7. Intellectual Property

The BookQ application, including its design, software, features, and branding, is owned by BookQ and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from the Service without prior written permission.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on third-party services to function, including services that provide:

  • infrastructure and hosting

  • authentication

  • book metadata

  • analytics or diagnostics

These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. BookQ is not responsible for the practices of third-party services.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We make no warranties or guarantees that:

  • the Service will be uninterrupted

  • the Service will be secure

  • the Service will be error-free

  • the Service will always meet your expectations

Your use of the Service is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BookQ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

  • your use of the Service

  • inability to use the Service

  • errors or interruptions in the Service

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BookQ and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising from:

  • your use of the Service

  • your violation of these Terms

  • content you submit through the Service

12. Changes to the Service

We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the Service at any time without prior notice.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If changes are made, the “Last Updated” date will be revised.

Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

If you are under the age of 18, you may use the Service only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

  • you are at least 13 years old, or

  • you are using the Service with the consent of a parent or guardian.

If we learn that a user under the age of 13 has created an account without appropriate consent, we may take steps to remove the account and associated information.
